A group formed in 2013 in Germany by independent game developers, EmuParadise released the first cracks for the version of Denuvo used for games produced by Ubisoft, and the first cracks for Denuvo 2 in 2014.

EmuParadise's early releases were mostly pirates of games released on the PC platform, and the group released a handful of cracked versions of games released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. These cracks included only the PS4 and Xbox One releases of games, and none for the Nintendo Wii U, which lacked Denuvo's Level 2 protection. This is the last version of Denuvo to be cracked by EmuParadise before it closed its YouTube channel in 2014.

EmuParadise released a video in 2015 explaining that they found the executable of Denuvo 2 and cracked it in the following year.[36] They continued to release cracked games until February 2017 when they closed their YouTube channel. They released only a handful of cracked games in total, including Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag and Just Dance 2017.

Although the four scene groups mentioned above were mostly well known to the public, many other groups and individuals have released cracked versions of games over the years. Some of the more notable examples include:

A group formed in the year 2011 in Germany, Digital Online Crackers released cracked versions of some of the first games released after Denuvo's launch by Ubisoft, including The Division, Far Cry 4, Dragon's Dogma Online, Assassin's Creed III Black Flag, and The Crew: Rivals.
