Alienware Notebook computers can be customized with several different colors of illuminated keys on the keyboard. Given that Alienware offers several gaming laptops, it is no surprise to learn that Alienware keyboard lights up in any of the following colors: Blue, Cherry, Steel Series, White, and Amber. While this can be a great attraction when the color of the rest of the laptop matches, it can be an eyesore if the lights don’t blend. The keyboard lighting on an Alienware laptop can be controlled manually by pressing the function keys F6, F10, or right arrow, or through a series of programmable illumination options. Below, we will prioritize the two functions that make up the Alienware keyboard lighting system: the ability to change the color and brightness of the keys on the keyboard; and the ability to disable key lighting altogether.
If you own a Dell computer that comes with a keyboard lighting feature, the illumination of the keyboard keys can be controlled by pressing the function keys F6, F10, or the right arrow. By default, the Blue and Steel Series keys will turn on, while the Cherry, White, and Amber (engineered with a new additive process) keys will turn on or turn off depending on your needs.
Thankfully, if you are looking to simply disable the lights, Alienware offers a switch to do exactly that. By default, the Alienware Backlight Switch toggles the function keys on and off. A quick press and release of the switch will disable the Imperial keyboard backlighting.
If you are running an Alienware laptop with the keyboard backlighting feature, you can control the brightness of each of the lighted keys on the keyboard. By default, the Acer, Dell, and Alienware keys will have a maximum brightness of 80%, while the Alienware and Steel Series keys will have a maximum brightness of 100%. d2c66b5586
