To view the license type (Standard or CAD), select the License Type radio button. This will display the License Info dialog. Make sure that the license serial number and your new serial number are displayed.

If you have a serial number that no longer works, you can deregister the license. To do this, you must open the License Info dialog, and select the Remove button.The deregistration dialog will appear. Click on Yes when prompted.

To update an existing license, you must first deregister the license. You can do this by using the Remove button. Then, ensure that the serial number of the license is registered and the license is associated with the current user. Finally, re-register the license as described above.

The previous license system was not that user friendly. The current system is much more user friendly. And now you can activate a license for SketchUp from one computer and use it on different computers. You can also use a different license on all your computers. The previous system required you to enter the serial number every time you installed SketchUp. Now you don't need to do that. In the current system you only need to enter your serial number once per installation.

Students must contact an IT staff member for the serial number before proceeding! You can come to Brooks 203, send an email to design_help@ncsu.edu or use this form to contact the College Information Technology staff with specific information about your problem.

After the extension has been successfully activated by entering your serial number, you will be presented with the following dialog box. A window will then appear to request you to restart SketchUp for the extension to be fully activated. After you restart SketchUp, you will be able to see the extension in the Tools Panel.
