If you are getting these error messages, the only way to resolve this is to find out what version of DirectX you have, if you have DirectX 11, you need to download the latest DirectX from Microsoft.

The shader model can be identified using a Microsoft utility called DirectX Capabilities Viewer. If the shader model is older than version 6, but the graphics card or chip is fairly new, the display driver may need to be updated.

I will upload a screenshot below where you can see that I have Shader model 6.5 as shown in the example below. I'm not sure if this is a big issue but I've noticed that in this post we have an issue with the Shader model version.

Hopefully this will save someone the pain and anguish that I have experienced. I guess that I should have never downloaded a port of the game in the first place. I was completely fooled by the game's advertisement.

Therefore it is important that you read the instructions above when you download DXCapsviewer to ensure it is not the wrong version for your Shader model. If you are unsure of your Shader model version, please ask your System Administrator to run dxdiag to check your Shader model.

I am having the same issues. I really want to play this game. I am currently running Windows 7 Ultimate. I have the latest updates for my PC, and all the latest versions of everything that they are asking for. I have even downloaded the game from the developers website, and tried playing it. It gave me the same error. I have also checked my video drivers, and they are the latest version. Any suggestions?
