Kamath Kalanath (born August 10, 1949) is one of the major actors in the Indian Malayalam film industry. He has been acting in Malayalam films since the late 1960's. He was introduced to the Malayalam film industry by 1957 through the Guruvayurappan saint, Edappattu Raman Namboodiri of Edappattu Raman Dakshinamurthy Sabha.

Kamath has two pet names, “Thadikka” (lit. “Devil's Son”) and “Kadakka” (lit. “Guilty Son”) which he uses when he is on screen. His “Thadikka “attitude shows that he is really one of the major directors of the Indian Malayalam film industry, because he is not fulfilling the roles that the society demands. Moreover, he says repeatedly in the Malayalam films that he acts because he is really a director.
